MY dad was big into CB'ing to back in the 70's and 80's. I was born in '71, I remember my Dad being so big into it, he had the BIG car
Antenna, this under car dash mount (with his 8-track tape too,
ofcourse!) Ahh... the memories!

So can relate to this!!! Born '72 here! ;) My dad had his last CB setup in his new F-150 in the mid 80's like you described your dads!

Ok, another question, what's the connection with BBS'ing and HAM radio?
I HAVE seen, over the years, there were alot of HAM radio/BBS's in my
area in the 90's. Curious what's the connection?
Thanks

I was big time into the CB back in 78-82. I got my "handle" HusTler
and now use it in BBS land. I met a lot of ladies on that darn thing. I could tell you some great CB stories... Pull up a chair..
That is awesome on the handle carry over from CB to BBS!
<Pulling up a chair and 6 pack> okay lets hear the real scoop!!! ;)
I like geting older, I used to dread in my 20's reaching my 50's! I'm 47, and I love it! Although I've found grey in 'unseen' areas I don't like!:\
i used to have salt'n'pepper but now it is all white... even my beard has (finally) come in and is all white... my hair has been all white for ~5 years or so... maybe closer to 10... i'm closing in on 60 pretty quickly...

Hehe!
I'm closing in on 50....quickly....
The older you get the only thing that goes fast or faster IS time, it seems! :\
I've actually thought about joining one of those hair clubs, I have my hairline, but have the balding spot in the middle of my head, so I just shave it all off! hehe
I'm closing in on 50....quickly....
I passed that mark over a year ago. ;)
shave it all off! hehe
I've still got a full head of hair (good genes), and it's still only got a little grey. ;)

Lucky lucky... damn my parents! :D
It's not a finish line, just another lap (of the sun) done. :D You don't want to hear a bell ringing at that point, because then you're on your last lap. :D

Hahaha and the rest of me is holding up pretty well. That's both good luck (genes) and good management (lots of training). :)

My first gray that I noticed was once I was shaving. I should point out that I wear a gotee...
But anyway, I'm shaving then washing the 'left over' shaving cream from
my face and some won't wash out. It was gray in my 'beard.' LOL
Hehe!!!
I used to go to the barbershop every week, I had the same haircut for
the last 5 or so years, faded, and thin on top. I remember, like it was yesterday! (I wish it was!) when I finally started going bald, I
thought my barber messed up my hair! I went home, got in the shower, looked in the mirror, and I thought I cut my hair too then on the top
of my head! I didn't wanna believe I was going bald! So I rushed back
to the shop to complain!! hahaha
We had a good (tearful!) laugh about it! I started to just cut it all
off, so I
DID save some money! ;)
Well, the last 7 days training:
Wed - Gym (legs and upper body), then a lassage, followed by some light javelin throwing. Thu - Track session - Warmup, drills then 5 x 80m at 85% effort (which is enough to get me to around 30 km/h these days!) Fri - Gym (core) followed by yoga. Sat - 3.3km cross country relay leg. Sun - Track session - warmup, 6 x 200m with reducing rest, then gym (legs and core) Mon - 3km treadmill and gym (core) Tue - Today! - warmup, 5 x 300m at 1km pace (roughly).

Geesh! Are you traning for the Decathalon! :D I wish I could do PART
of that, I have back issues so when I go to the gym, I just lift and do cardio. You can be my personal trainer!! hehe

Yeah, the 'training' part helps ALOT! I'm doing the gym thing to
atleast keep the LOOK of youth!

This time of year, my focus is on general fitness - strength, power, endurance, flexibility, while doing enough speed work to maintail my basic skills, without being overtaxing. I also have to regularly work on acceleration repition, because that is the weak part of my race, despite having more power than average. So far, repetition is my friend there.
You wouldn't be the first who's asked for my help, or that I've given help to with their fitness. :)

I dunno WHAT happened with that last message I sent, it got all kinda
ways wacky!
I've been making a conscience effort on my health. It was easier in my 20's! now almost hitting 50, if I want to live satisfying live I've had
to make it more of my routine. I actually been losing weight over the last 2 months. I feel healthier!
