Let me know what you end up with...

I'll stop in Saturday and see what they have. I am sure if they - the usual Ladysmith store - doesn't have something I like then I will
probably find something suitable somewhere else. `Tis the season.

And did you find something good at the usual Ladysmith store...? Or did
    you have to go elsewhere....?

    Hopefully the storms have passed

At least two more on their way with the one tomorrow carrying a severe wind warning along with the bucket of rain.

We had quite a bit of rain earlier this week, then just a dusting of
    snow last night....

Are the storms rain or snow... or both....?

Buckets and buckets of rain. No mention of snow in the next two. The weather person on CBC Radio One is calling for a Green Christmas this
year which is normal for these parts. Last Friday we had two power outages due to trees being toppled over the power lines. However the
last storm generated a tornado just east of Seattle so we definetly
didn't get the worst of this series of storms. Mind you it isn't over
but if we escape damage tomorrow then we should be okay for the
immediate future. The long range forcast only calls for more (and
    more) rain.

And how are you faring now...? Were you without power for long...?

so maybe we'll have a white Christmas....

Is this a good thing? If so then I'll wish it for you.

It's rather traditional here, so it does make it seem a little more
Christmas-y when it is white... it's looking like we may have only a
    dusting, if anything, this year....

Myself I am only looking to survive tomorrow's event.

Survival is a good thing.... ;)

We got a little more this morning, after all the previous snow
    was pretty much all gone

We're still green but there is a marginal threat of the white stuff
    this week.

We're green again... Eventually we'll have more snow, though.... It's
what one expects here for the winter... and the bushes and other
greenery do better with a nice blanket of snow to protect from the cold
which is also to be expected here.... :)

    no time to do messages....

I have discovered that when it is time to do messages there is exactly enough time to do messages. Mind you I don't have that much else
    going on at that time.

It works best for me when there isn't a lot other happening... We took a
450 mile day-trip the one day, and then the next was my family getting
together at my sister's for Christmas... I wasn't even home to be able
to do messages.... Getting a little caught up now, finally... ;)

Looking at the clock on the wall I see there
is 23 hours left before we can officially put 2019-01-01 behind us. I
for one am looking forward to it.

The cybertoast was indeed an enjoyable thing.... I'm glad to put the old
year behind us, though... hopefully this year will be better....

And did you find something good at the usual Ladysmith store...?

Yes. 12 year old Glenlivet. :-)

    That sounds nice... :)

just a dusting of snow last night....

Still no snow here and only a slight chance of snow for this weekend.

We got a little more this morning, after all the previous snow was
pretty much all gone, what with rain and high 50s (F) temps on Friday...
And much of that new snow is gone now tonight....

Survival is a good thing.... ;)

Yes it is and I made it through what the weather people are calling
the worst storm in 20 years. The power was out from Thursday morning until last night at 10:30 pm PST. The rest (telephone, cable, etc)
just came on a couple hours ago.

That would explain why it took you so long to answer.... My excuse is
that I wasn't home much at all for Thursday or Friday this past week, no
    time to do messages....
