• Getting to know your son again?

From Jeff Smith@1:282/1031 to All on Monday, September 02, 2019 11:40:10
    Hello There,

I recently got to spend some days with my son. Normally not that unusual of an
occasion. But in this case I hadn't seen my son in over 30 years, since he was
around 8 years old. It was one of the very special moments in my life to simply shake his hand. And yes, hug the stuffing out of him. :-) I seen a very mature and well mannered man. Who has become a Fireman and an EMT. I will have to get used to being call dad and sir. We both have pledged to stay in contact and plan on arranging as many get together's as is possible considering the 1000 miles between us. Those were a very special few days.

What a great story. It must be an awesome opportunity that you arranged.

Yes, but sadly not every son has that opportunity. I for example never really knew my dad. Even though he was around and could have been a dad IF he had wanted to. That is why it is especially important for me to be as much a part of my son's life as he is comfortable with. In both cases, what could have been
wasn't. What's important is to make what can be as much of a reality as is possible.

Wow, this is incredible and awesome. So glad you all are reconnecting!
