It must be a terrible mind-fuck to live on an island which basically is a desert, having the 10 most poisonous snakes of the world in your backyard, flies, kangaroos, salt water crocs, sharks on your beaches and only "Neighbours" and Kylie Minogue as entertainment ...

BTW, ABBA has split a short while ago.

Nope. Here is a counter-example: The Many-banded krait is usually somewhere on this list among the top 5, but it does not live in Australia.

    sharks on your beaches

Oh my, they leave the water in Australia and conquer the beaches? ;-)

and only "Neighbours" and Kylie Minogue as entertainment ...

I think Australians look quite differently on her than you do.

BTW, ABBA has split a short while ago.

    What a great luck.

What? They expulsed the Many-banded krait? That's illegal ...

    sharks on your beaches

Oh my, they leave the water in Australia and conquer the beaches? ;-)

Actually, I've personally witnessed a Great White torpedo himself (herself?) into a group of California sea lions south of San Francisco on a beach, successfully, holding on to a juvenile until one of the next waves afforded it enough buoyancy to get back in the ocean. There exist videos of similar events with killer whales and you could see them coming, but this was like a torpedo out of nowhere.

While much of Australia is a desert, the chunk that is not is considerably larger than Belgium, and a population only twice Belgium's to fill it.

having the 10 most poisonous snakes of the world in your
    backyard,

Only two in my backyard and the dog fixed them.

    flies, kangaroos, salt water crocs,

Crocs live towards the north of Australia - the larger proportion of the human population towards the south,

    sharks on your beaches

Sharks get far less people than the motor vehicles, it is safer swimming in the
warm sea than driving on the roads.

and only "Neighbours" and Kylie Minogue as entertainment ...

Kylie moved to UK years ago, they have other brainless bimbos now.

BTW, ABBA has split a short while ago.

    ACDC are still around.

It's in Vietnam. When I was TDY to DaNang (in 1965) the security guard
at our compound's front gate shot one.

    Ward,

The strange thing people all over the world want come to Oz to see the dangerous wildlife and a few never make it home.

Most die from drownings or from medical conditions not the wildlife.

BTW, Neighors and Kylie are more popular in the UK than Oz.

The older UK generation all grew up with them but the real favourite was skippy.

I beleive Dave is busy training the next skippy.
