    Good morning Ward,

maybe but OS/2 (and at least one or two winwhatever versions) had a 49
day numerical rollover problem... the size of the variable used to store

I doubt OS/2 hadd a rollover problem. Former RC28/29 Johan
Zwiekhorst ran OS/2 and was proud never to reboot his system.

I'm happy to report the same, but I don't run any OS/2-Win version.

But I take the system down several times a week for tweaking, some maintenance stuff ... things.

Not necessary with OS/2 as an operating system.

While I'm at it: Thanks for the long list of New Years wishes included
in the NODEDIFF. Of all the languages I do understand, only swedish and
danish are wishing us a Merry Christmas, all the others are for New Year

Also: The lines about Roy Witt and Wilfred van Veltzen are unnecessary
    in my opinion.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,

    Holger

I'm aware what most of them say. That list has been appearing now for a decade or so and I'm glad you finally noticed it in 2018.

Also: The lines about Roy Witt and Wilfred van Veltzen are unnecessary
    in my opinion.

Since it's my list, it's my call. I take pride in mentioning Roy Witt in his own words and in his own style bringing him back to the nodelist once a year. He was one of the most noteworthy people ever in Fidonet.

So far only you and Wilfred have voiced opinions over that list and I will respond to it in the most eloquent way that the late Bob Satti had developed to
    an art: "Noted".

Enjoy the festive season Holger and continue preparing for global warming and the rising of the seas. I promise I'll write something nice about you too when you will perish with the Aland Islands (which one day I will still want to visit).

    Take care,

    \%/@rd

I have noticed that list for many years but not cared to write about it
to you until now. Maybe it was the mention of Roy and Wilfred that made
me finally write about it. Roy was also a friend of mine.

    Happy New Year,

I don't know what list you are reading. Here the Swedish wish is a crippled (lack of umlaut making it a wish for a new acre) New Years wish.

My bad. It's hard to keep up with all the crazy, non-metric systems.

An acre is some 40 times the area of a Swedish 'ar' (100 m^2).
