    Did you ever see such a high volume of celebrities speaking out against a political candidate before? I've seen them do it a little before, but never at
    this frequency.

    I think Trump was the first Republican to win the Presidency during the
    social media era. Before that, the celebrity had to be important enough
    for someone to want to put a microphone in their face. Now they, like
    Trump, can blurt out whatever they are thinking/feeling at any one moment
    in an attempt to influence their loyal herd of followers.

    I think you're right to some extent, but this mass-messaging was beyond just tweets and social media. I feel like even without the addition of social
    media, the attacks elsewhere were unprecedented.
