    With all this money Democrats like to waste, they should invest in more homeless shelters.

    Pretty sure it is so they can run the background check. They don't want
    anyone staying overnight that might be a threat to other occupants or that might bring drugs into the facility (they drug test them also).

    That said, it would keep out anyone who might not have ID because they are illegal, or wanted by the law.

    With all this money Democrats like to waste, they should invest in more homeless shelters.

    That'd not be a bad idea. I noticed a lot fewer homeless folks milling
    about downtown (I live in a small town!) between 2017-2020. We've had an explosion over the past year or so, more than I remember seeing before that period.
