They guy might be on to something, but I just find it hard to believe that it's not the regime's fault.
The public has never seen them before. An increase in radar causes the public to see them more? :) He's terrible at lying, and it's better for his image if he just lets Jean Pierre do all the talking.
Someone on another network, who is skeptical of the government's handling of the known spy balloon, has suggested that the reason we the public are seeing them now is because we have better optics -- higher quality cameras, etc., that have come down in price in recent years.

I don't believe that camera prices have come down in price recently. Did they show you any evidence of that? I guess it depends on which brand you buy, but I use Reolink cameras, and I see them gradually going up in price due to the evolution of camera resolution. Mine are all 5MP, which are about $50 each, bu
now 8MP seems to be the standard, and they are like $75 each.
To me, it seems like the influence peddler is offering some kind of end of ter
deals on surveillance.
They have not come down super recently, but they have come down in recent years. Also, every cell phone nowadays has a camera, and some of the smart phones have pretty decent ones. I bought a couple of cameras in 2020-21 that, if they even had cameras like them 5-10 years earlier, I would not have been able to afford them 5-10 years earlier.

He wasn't trying to sell me anything. :)
