• Quick update

From Sean Dennis@1:18/200 to All on Wednesday, April 03, 2019 13:52:23
    Hello All,

I'm still here. Monday I went to see my orthopedic surgeon. My knee is healing albeit slowly. I am now walking without the assistance of a cane and can go up and down stairs somewhat normally. My pinky is another story: it seems the flexor tendon at the top of the pinky is broken as I cannot straighten out my pinky. I can actually type with the pinky gently (I use it to hit the Enter key). On April 22, I will be seeing a hand surgeon to discuss what happens next which I am thinking surgery.

    Later,
    Sean

Did they ever find the guy who caused it?

Do you think that you will be coming to the picnic in September?

Not that I know of, unfortunately.

Do you think that you will be coming to the picnic in September?

As far as I can see from here, yes. With the flexor tendon being blown
out in my pinky, I have to see a hand surgeon on April 22 to decide
whether or not they want to do surgery. I have limited use of my finger
right now to type. I'm now using "buddy strips" (thin lined Velcro
strips to keep my ring and pinky fingers together instead of using that
full immobilizing brace) so that's a definite improvement. Work is
still probably at least several weeks off and that's assuming the temp
agency can find work for me out here since I'm not going back to the HP project I was on.

But with the Hafflys being so close to me, in any situation I'm in, I
should be able to come by for at least a couple of days.

    Later,
    Sean

You should let her know on the echo.

Stephen's already contacted me via email but I'll drop a note in the
    echo also.

Wait it was a hit and run? Geez, considering how much damage it did to
your vehicle, it is surprised his was driveable.

Yes, it was a hit and run, and everyone involved in the accident wondered how he could drive the vehicle any distance after the damaged he caused. I have a sneaking suspicion that I found the vehicle and have turned that info over to law enforcement.

Back in 1994 a bunch of the regulars of this echo had a spur-of-the-
moment weekend gathering in Springfield, IL, where three of the group
lived. About two dozen people showed up from the midwest and from
Georgia to Philly on the east coast. We had a very nice weekend and
were able to meet the faces behind the names on the screen. We did it
again in 1995, and afterward it became an annual event hosted by Stan Hardegree in Villa Rica, GA. The last one I attended was in 1999.

Yep, I went to one of the last ones in Villa Rica at Stan's. Stan is still around. I've invited him to join us but he's declined.
