    What that means is that either there was some global catastrophe
    that wiped out virtually all life on earth some 100,000 to 200,000
    years ago, or the Moon simply was not orbiting this planet before
    then.

    There have been various extinction events over the life of our planet, so
    maybe they have found a new one.

    The bestone I heard was that Mars once was inhabited and when life there collapsed they sent a probe to Earth with 2 survivors ... they were called Adam
    and Eve. When they landed it caused a cataclysm which wiped-out the dinosaurs.
